Leaving Canada without PR card

I landed within Canada at the local CIC office last week and was told I would receive my PR card within 30 - 45 days.
My problem now is I want to leave Canada in a few weeks as a situation has come up where I must be present in my home country to deal with it.
I still have my current work permit which is valid until November 2010 and my passport/home country is on the visa waiver list so I don't need a visa to visit Canada for up to 3 months.

Would I be able to reenter Canada as a PR using my passport (it also has my PR visa), copy of COPR and valid work permit?
I read somewhere that you are still a PR even if you don't physically have the PR card so do you think I would not be refused entry?

depending on the country you have to travel to. if it's the US you can enter by land using your COPR, if you enter by air from another country, you need to get a Travel Document from your local Canadian embassy prior your travelling.

What is COPR?

Should we be getting the Travel Document from the local country or we can get it from Canada before travelling back to the local country?

Also, which is the better alternative?

Thanks!

You don't have an option it must be obtained at a Canadian office overseas.
