Leaving Canada when SOWP extension is in progress

Hi All,

I came to Canada with Spousal open work permit which was valid till July 23rd 2022. My wife recently renewed her passport and we applied for the extension of my wife's study visa and my open work permit on January 20th 2022 and its under progress. I received a letter - "WP-EXT only except PGWP.docx" in my application and mentioned my validity of work permit is till May 20th 2022 or until the decision is taken. Attached the snapshot of the picture.

As you can see in the picture, they have mentioned
If you leave Canada before a decision is made on your application, you will no longer be authorized to continue working

Is that mean I will lose authorisation to work if I leave Canada after May 20th 2022 or its applicable since I received this letter ? Shall I go to my home country and come back before May 20th 2022 ? I have work permit and TRV stating that my work permit valid till July 23rd 2022.

Same question here. Mine is expiring on Aug 21st, 2022. And I am currently outside of Canada, I don't know should I apply inland as an extension or apply outside Canada as a new one? (I cannot find any extension options from outside Canada).

I know it's old! but Have you managed to travel and come back with no issues?
