I've been getting mixed answers on this and am hoping for any leads on where I can get the official information.
We are from a Visa exempt country and our 1 year old daughter is in Canada with a temporary visitor status (which has to be renewed every 6 months), and in which the officer wrote we would be applying for her sponsorship.
We are both PR's and the 3 of us are living in BC. We are hoping to leave Canada for a 2 week vacation to the US we have already paid for and have been postponing for 3 years because of Covid. This is our last chance to go and our extended family is going so it's a nice opportunity to see them and we really don't want to miss it. But we don't want to mess up our daughter's sponsorship process (we haven't even received AOR yet).
And we also don't want to risk her not being allowed in again (which I find hard to believe could happen considering she is 1 year old but some people have told me she might not be allowed in as a temporary visitor if she is applying for PR, because it would show an intention of not leaving the country). We would be meeting our residency requirements when coming back (not with much of a stretch but within what is required).
Has anybody done this? Is there any place I could be given official (hopefully written) information?
