Leaving Canada before getting PR Card

Hi,

My application was approved and just got my CoPR/Visa which is valid till 6th Sept 2016 hence I need to enter Canada before that day.
Now, my British citizenship is due in Feb 2017 and I don't want to let it go so I cannot be outside Britain for more than 90 day in past 12 months. I've checked different forums and the answers are not very clear on if I'd be allowed to re enter Canada as Permanent Resident 8 months after my first entry.

On the plus side I do have US visitor visa that I can use to enter through private vehicle if allowed and also I'd have British passport after Feb next year that means I can easily enter as a visitor.

But would these affect my status as PR in Canada. Please advice since I plan to leave for Canada for 2 weeks in July..

You can leave Canada before you get the PR card, but you would need it to reenter. The smartest thing to do is to have it sent to a friend or a family member, and have them forward it to you outside of Canada, wherever you are.

Yes I do have a brother in Canada for the PR card to be sent to him. However, I am not sure if I may be required while the processing of the PR card (due to any reason) and I need to re enter then? Is it possible to use CoPR documents to re enter via US border? Also would it help if I open a bank account within my short stay of 15 days and use that address as my proof of residency when questioned at the border?

If you are out of Canada, and don't have a PR Card, you can apply for and get a PR Travel Document from a local VO. You can use the COPR for getting the PRTD, but not to travel to Canada.

Alternatively, if you have a US visa, you can fly to the US, and drive across the border using the COPR.
