Leaving and re-entering Canada during Express Entry application process...?

Hello,

I'm planning on submitting my express entry profile over the next few days.
Assuming I get an ITA and I then apply... is it a bad idea to leave Canada for a short trip?

I'm potentially going on holiday to the US in March next year, just for 10 days, but I may decide not to go if this creates problems re-entering Canada.

A friend of mine said he had to stay put in Canada when he applied for PR, although this was a few years ago using the old system.
I'm just wondering if this is still the case?

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks.

No, it's fine to go in and out, as long as you have another status. The only time you can't leave is when you are on "implied status" - meaning that your old status has expired but you can stay and wait for the outcome of your application for a new one.
