Hello guys,

I am on the path of moving to Canada through the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). My current job in Italy (Car salesman) is clssified under the letter "C" of the NOC, so it is eligible for the QSWP but not for the Canadian Express Entry Program.

Once I will be in Canada, my intention and dream is to become a police officer and thus serve my new Country and my new community. However, one must be a Canadian citizen in order to join a police agency in Quebec, while in other Provinces it is sufficient to possess the PR status/card.

So, I have some questions for you.

1) Is it possible to leave Quebec and move to another Province right after receiving the PR card by post?
2) Or must I reside and work in Quebec for a period of time before leaving? If that is the case, how long?
3) Is it true that I'll have to go back to Quebec in order to renew the PR card if I move out? I've read an article about that: https://www.quepinos.com/posts/qsw-pr-planning-to-leave-quebec
3) Will moving from Quebec to another Province have a negative impact on my PR status?

Thank you and have a nice day!

Yes, you can move to a new province after getting your PR card. There is no negative impact.

I don't know where you are in the immigration process. However you may want to read through the Quebec Immigration section of this forum. Many people have had very negative experiences trying to immigrate through Quebec (very long wait times, canceled applications).

Thank you Scylla for your answer.:)

Would also add that getting a spot in a police academy and getting hired onto a force is very difficult and usually takes many years at a very minimum but usually a lot longer. There is not a lot of yearly hiring.
