leave Canada without restoring status, any negative impact on CEC PR application

Dear All,

I lost my status in Dec2014 and just received AOR for CEC PR application. After seeking help from this forum, I have figured out there are two options for me to stay in Canada: restore status through visitor permit or waiting for a positive LMO which my employer is working on.

Getting a visitor permit won't allow me back to work until PR approval, at least 6 months if everything goes well.
For LMO, I am not sure how long will that take until a new work permit is issued. So, I am thinking to leave Canada soon in February and wait for PR approval in China, my own country. First of all, I have two kids and live here without working is not practical. Second, i may take this chance to do a few important personal things in China.

So, my questions are: 1. will there be any negative impact if i leave Canada without restoring my status?
2. can i still apply for a new WP in China, if LMO approved?

All opinions and suggestions are welcome.

1. There would be no impact since you left the country while you still had time. It's not like they kicked you out. But usually people just leave in good terms, they apply for a visitor and then they leave, just to show them there were nothing wrong and they could obtain legal status.

2. Yes you most definitely can apply for your WP from anywhere if your LMO goes through. Depending on your processing centre they might be a little tougher and it might take a little more time.

I know you have done your studies well and you are making the best decision. But I would add this, it's just a personal suggestion, so you can dig deeper to see if it's possible for you to do it. If I were you I would apply for visitor and then await the decision on my LMO. If it goes through voila! You can apply for your work permit here and change your visitor to WP and carry on with your life. If it didn't go through, you can leave the country and await the decision on your PR. Just a suggestion.
