I'm PR living outside Canada. I'm plan to move back with my spouse and kids who are not yet PR. So that they have to apply visitor visa to enter Canada and live with me in Canada. Once we arrived, I will start the application of family sponsorship.

In this case, will my spouse and kids' visitor visa be rejected at the time of applying since we aim at apply for family sponsorship after arrival. Please advise.

We are currently outside canada but plan to live back to Canada together

The question I raise in another forum is "in case" we are finally arrived in Canada all together, how my kids go to local school for education. Hopefully it can explain clearly now.

I think the visa officer will have a hard time issuing visitor visas to the whole family because they'll suspect that they're not coming back after. A visitor visa is only so people can come and visit. The intended purpose isn't to facilitate people moving to Canada so they can apply inland.

If so, since my spouse and kids are holding "visa exempt" passport, should we not apply TRVs but only eTA now, so that they can visit Canada directly. Once they arrived there, I can immediately apply family sponsorship and extend the visitor visa? (is it possible to do that?)

If they hold passports from visa exempt countries they wouldn't even accept your TRV apication. They'd just return it. All you'd need is an eTA to show up at the border seeking entry into Canada.

They would need Visitor Records to stay for longer than 6 months, which you would need to apply for close to the date of their original 6-month authorized period of entry (the date their passport is stamped). Make sure they don't run out of status!

In that case "need Visitor Records to stay for longer than 6 months", Visitor Records means the passport stamp? or something else?

To extend the stay, will "waiting for application of family sponsorship" be a valid reason?

A Visitor Record is not the same thing as a passport stamp. A VR is a document issued by CBSA or CIC that strictly controls when a person is to leave Canada.

When they enter, their passports will be stamped and they will most likely get the standard 6 months. When that status is close to expiring, they will need to apply to extend their stay; waiting for the PR app to be processed is a valid reason. If the extension app is approved, they will receive Visitor Records.

Thanks for your reply. To extend the stay, is it necessary to get AOR 1 first? or once I sent out the application with Fedex / UPS courier slip, I can then show as a supporting document to extend the stay?

As I know, it take a while to receive AOR 1, I may not able to receive it before the visitor visa expired. If so, what can I do (or show as supporting) to extend the visa?

No, you don't need AOR. Show the fee receipt.
