Lead Time for File number from CIO

Hi,

I sent in my initial application for the PR and it was received at the CIO on June 4th, 2010. I haven't heard anything yet.

What's usually the lead time for them to respond? Also, is there any way to check the status of the application online? Has anyone else who has submitted their application before mine either in June or in May heard from the CIO office?

You will hear in 2-3 months from CIO.
Best way is to check if they had encashed the DD/ collected application amount from credit card. After the have taken money, they send communication within 10 days.
No other way to check.

I am currently located in canada and had taken a money order from a local bank. So I don't think this is a possibility for me. Hoping to hear from others who have submitted their application in May or June.
