Hi! Need help.

Language:
Have you taken any test from designated agency to assess your English
or French? (No/Yes)

Now, I took IELTS to assess my English several years ago before
applying for USA student visa. Will I need to submit the result with
my application form to prove it?

Hi,

The IMM5257E question about taking a language test from a designated agency is if your Native Language/Mother Tongue is not English/French..... or if you are unable to communicate in English/French.

You are NOT required to submit evidence of English/French language proficiency for your TRV application

Cheers

Do we need to submit evidence if we answer "Yes"?
You can. It could then raise new questions to a visa officer as to why you took these tests. But, you can certainly state it especially if you took these tests to study or immigrate to another country

Have you taken the IELTS? If yes, for what purpose?
Hi Bryanna,
I usually take the IELTS test every 2 years. Just to keep it updated. I think It will be useful for employment as well.

Thank you for your feedback.

on another note, I have another question -

Background Information in IMM1295 form:
2)
b) Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory?
Does it apply to Visitor visa also? Visitor visa was not approved due to missing information in the past.
what should I answer to this question?
does it have any impact on my WP application if visitor was not approved in the past due to missing doc?

Than you for your help!!

You can answer 'Yes' and submit a copy of your most recent IELTS score.

Do keep in mind your IELTS score/bands will not give any privilege or benefits for processing your TRV. Like I mentioned earlier, it could indicate you have plans to stay long-term in Canada.

You must answer 'Yes' and state the details.

Each visa application is assessed for its individual merits

Hi there,

I am applying for my post graduate work permit as I finished my 1 year Masters program from a designated learning institution in canada. I am filling IMM 5710 form and in that it asks " Have you taken a test from designated testing agency to assess your proficiency in English" should i submit yes or no? I took TOEFL before coming to canada as it was required for university application process but I have good command over english and I have stated English as the language in Native language/ mother tongue tab? Should I juts say no ?
And in emplyement should I mention the jobs/ internship positions I did even if i was not paid and if it was outside canada ?
Thanks in advance

Hi there,
What to mention in Have you previously applied to enter or remain in canada" yes or no?
I applied for coming here to study i.e. for a study permit, so should i tick yes and state in the box that i applied for study permit for my masters education?

Hello there,

Just wanted to use this forum to ask a question regarding IMM008: "Have you taken any test from a designated agency to assess your English?"

So I got a nomination from the OINP in a stream where IELTS was not mandatory. My last IELTS result is more than 2 years old. In this case, can I answer NO to this question?

Thank you
