Hi,

we just got our visas stamped from New Delhi.

I have a qucik question regarding the landing process. My husband who was a dependent is planning to land first without me, since he will be flying from india and i will join him
after 2-3 days from US. Can he do that without any issue ?

I believe that accompanying dependants must land with or AFTER the principle applicant, I don't think your husband will be allowed to land before you, the principle applicant.

I tried to find a document that explains and all I could find was: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/enf/enf04-eng.pdf

It looks like the problem is that your husband doesn't qualify to become a PR unless you yourself qualify and that includes landing and being admissable at the border. It sounds like they might let him enter but put the process on hold until you arrive, but it sounds very murky to me.

Skeptic is Correct, principal applicant will have to land first and then dependants are allowed entry.

hi explorer101, i have a question for you. below is our plan for our landing, please if you have time give your thoughts if it is correct or possible. thanks!
1. since my husband (principal applicant) is already in Canada on a work permit, once he gets the COPR and visa he will "land at a local CIC office"
2. then he will go to a local CBSA office (at the airport) and have the B4 Goods to follow received/stamped from there
3. he will then send my and my child's passports with visa and COPR together with the stamped B4 to us, we are still in our home country
4. when we land(my daughter and myself), we will present our passports, visa, COPR and B4 at the POE

You can do according to this plan. Principal applicant landing within Canada and others landing later on.
