Dear All

Please help with following questions, especially Qorax . .

I have applied with spouse and one 2 year old child and going to send Right of Permanent residence fee

1. The total would be 490 + 490 + 150 USD ?

2. Suppose I the principal applicant land there alone -- and dependents dont travel at all on PR visa ? Does this mean only I will get PR card and they will not get it at all ? And in that case should i only send RPRF fees for only myself ?

3. Suppose all 3 land there and get PR cards -- but later only I or spouse is able to maintain the PR residency status requirements . . . Does that mean only that person will stay resident and later become citizen and others will lose their PR status ?

4. Suppose only 1 of the 3 is able to get citzenship ? Does this mean he then has to sponsor wife and child ? how long does this take ? and do the dependants have to be living in canada for this to take place ?

5. Suppose after getting our PR cards, spouse has baby in canada -- will baby be Canadian Citizen ?
In that case if the entire family does not reside in canada for the required 2 out of 5 years -- will the parents be able to keep their PR status, since they are parents of Canadian citizen living outside canada ?

6. If child is canadian citizen does he have to be 18 before he can sponsor parents ?

Thanks a lot

RPRF not required for dependent child. So CAD 980

You can land alone and dependants can land later before the expiry of thier PR visa. You will only get the PR card after landing.

3. Suppose all 3 land there and get PR cards -- but later only I or spouse is able to maintain the PR residency status requirements . . . Does that mean only that person will stay resident and later become citizen and others will lose their PR status ?

Yes of course.

4. Suppose only 1 of the 3 is able to get citzenship ? Does this mean he then has to sponsor wife and child ? how long does this take ? and do the dependants have to be living in canada for this to take place ?

If one of the parent only get the citizenship, and the others loose PR status the other members can be sponsored under family class. Means the husband can sponsor wife and dependant child. The wife can sponsor husband and child.

5. Suppose after getting our PR cards, spouse has baby in canada -- will baby be Canadian Citizen ?

Yes, child will be a Canadian citizen by birth.

In that case if the entire family does not reside in canada for the required 2 out of 5 years -- will the parents be able to keep their PR status, since they are parents of Canadian citizen living outside canada ?

No. The parents has to maintain PR obligation.

6. If child is canadian citizen does he have to be 18 before he can sponsor parents ?

As per the current rules, there is no sponsorship for parents and grand parents. It is multiple entry visit visa for 10 years which is called Super Visa.

Hi, Myself and spouse and kid have PR VISA valid till Oct. But Only myself could make it to Canada before expiry of VISA.
1. By any chance could I apply PR card on behalf them?
2. If their VISA is expired how could I bring them to Canada at latter stage? What are the options I am left with?
3. Or How could I extend their PR VISA expiry date?

1. No - you can't. Then have to come to Canada and land before the expiry of their PR visas in order to qualify for PR cards.
2. You can sponsor them through family class. Since you are a PR, you will have to be living in Canada when you submit the sponsorship application and will have to continue living in Canada until their PR visas are approved.
3. Extending their visas is not possible.
