Hi,

Is it possible that primary applicant lands first after getting visa for express entry and the dependents land later.
Could not find any official link saying same.
Can anyone help understand or provide links if possible

Yes Primary has to land first. But can the dependents land later, is it recommended that all land together?
Can anyone share the official links around this

I'm assuming you're talking about the scenario where the PA lands before the dependents.
In that case, no, they don't need to show proof of funds, as they would have theoretically already covered that part with you, the PA.
Thank you for your response.

I asked in some other thread. Even principal applicant doesn't need to show pof at custom.

In that case, I would urge you to less rely on what some people say without at least trying to negate the hypothesis yourself. A basic search can tell you that's not true at all.
Here is an official link stating the exact opposite:

When you arrive in Canada
You must have:

  • your valid passport and/or travel documents
    • your passport must be a regular, private citizen passport
    • you can’t immigrate to Canada with a diplomatic, government service or public affairs passport
  • your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and your permanent resident visa (if we gave you one)
  • proof that you have the funds to support yourself and your family after you arrive in Canada

Some applicants have been asked to show funds. Other havn't, sure. But that doesn't mean you don't need to show POF.
I do believe it's at the discretion of the officer in charge of landing you, to ask you to show POF or not.
Unless you're going through CEC stream, which exempts applicants from POF.

As PA, take your POF with you...

You're welcome.
Yes, along with some reasonable amount of cash on hand for your own good to get up and running the first weeks/months.
Just make sure it's a recent bank statement. Grab one from your bank right before you leave.
