I am immigrating from the United States to Quebec, happily ahead of schedule. I am leaving my job next week and my Quebecoise wife and 11 month old daughter intended to ride with me in my car to Quebec.

However, I am having second thoughts about this plan because I am worried that the process at the border will take longer than I can expect an overactive and sometimes fussy baby to be patient through. We will have a car packed full of my possessions, and a sizeable list of goods to follow - the ability to bring my life's accumulation of tools, books, appliances, and other gear by car from the US is something I want to take advantage of!

How long does the landing process typically take? What are the experiences of people who have been through this?

the actual "landing" process takes about 15 minutes. it's quite quick... they ask you questions (That are already written on the form), you sign the paper, they sign the paper, they check your goods forms and let you on your way. the only "Wait" you may experiences is in the car waiting to pull up to the booth, or if the immigration officer inside is helping someone else.
