Hi All .... I have question regarding my Canada landing.... I came in US in 5 years ago..and since then I am staying in US only.. my visa/I-94 first got expired in 2009... my company applied for I-94 extension and it got approved ..again my company applied for I-94 extension and now it got approved from USCIS till 2013.. but my visa is not stamped...Meantime I got my COPR from Canada..So plz let me knw if i should enter Canada with expired I-94 of L1A US visa... Will they ask any questions or deny my entry??? or should I go to India first to get my US Visa stamped and then complete Canada landing process.Your help in this regard will be highly appreciated..

Let me summarize your situation. Expired US Visa but valid/approved papers with I-94. Have valid COPR.

Yes, you can enter Canada with your current status. They will not deny your entry. You can finish your landing formalities in Canada and return back to US with the AVR (automatic visa revalidation) rule. Canada POE are not too worried about your US status as long as you can show that you have approved papers (if at all they ask). Post your landing formalities you can return to US using the AVR rule.

If you want to get US stamping done only for Canada landing purpose, it is really not needed.

You can refer to my posting to read my landing experiences. I had expired L2 visa but was on valid H1B approved papers. I finished my landing formalities on march 12, 2012. Refer to my experience below.

Hope this helps.

Hi KK,

Thank you very much for your time and reply.
I was in tension if should go first India for US visa stamping or should I go to Canada first and then move to India after Landing.

Thanks again.
