Dear All,

I did my landing through Rainbow bridge. I told the Immigration officer that I am here only in Canada for 4 days and will be returning back to USA . When the immigration officer heard this ,he told me that he wont send us the PR cards through post. He further said that in order to get PR cards we need to move to Canada permanently. He never asked us about our Canadian Address. I was very confused. Because I thought that for new immigrants PR cards are issued on POE and they arrive through mail at your Canadian Address in about 2-3 months. But in our case this never happened. Also on our COPR the immigration officer has written this "ADDRESS NOTIFICATION ISSUED". Not sure what this means?

I need help urgently. Experts please advise

Do what the immigration officer told you and give your permanent address in Canada the next time you arrive at the border.

It is not urgent.

Yes you can aplly for your PR card inside Canada but There is a chance that the officer wrote a note in your file that you are not staying in Canada. When you decide to move permanently, arrive by land, you just need your CORP and give your address to the CBSA officer . And come back soon ....

"ADDRESS NOTIFICATION ISSUED" means that you need to notify your address when you move permanently.

Call CIC @ 1-888-242-2100 during the daytime, and give them your address.....tell em you have now moved permanently.

They will take the address and process your pr card.

You didn't need to tell immigration officer WHEN you will move permanently. They don't need to know that much.
Keep it simple man
