So I have been issued my approval for PR as a skilled worker, and am due to land next week to be stamped in as a permanent resident

What do I need to show when I land? (I am Australian and don't need a travel visa to come to Canada)

Right now all I have is:

-passport
- "Confirmation of Permanent residence" form (with barcode) from CIC.

Surely that can't be all I need?
Do I need to show any other docs?
Proof of funds? If so, in what format? bank certificate?

Also, am I able to leave Canada to return home 3 weeks later?
And how long do I have to live in Canada to maintain my PR?

THANKS,

WW

you need lot many things/forms to show:

- passport with PR stamped on it
- COPR letter
- proof of funds (cash/TC/DD) in Canadian $
- form B4/B4-1 for goods you are carrying

you can return immediately/next day back to your country and take back all proof of funds with you

PR issued for 5 yrs, in which you have to stay minimum of 2 yrs in Canada to get PR renewed after 5 yrs

Thanks Nileshrm :)

So I need to stay in Cada for 2 years out of every 5 years to maintain my PR. ?

Does that have to be 2 years consecutively? or is it total time equivalent to two full years?

thanks mate

1, total time equivalent to two full years

When you do a short landing, do you need to clarify this to the official?

What happen if you provide an address that is not normal house address, but
a place used to collect your PR.

What happen when they check that you bought a round-trip ticket?

I am worry that if they understand that I am entering Canada only to
activate to active the PR and request the PR Card, they don't allow me
to request to PR, and loose time and money.

What is the right procedure to make a short landing, or is only a luck issue?

I am also a visa exempt. We did not get any PR stamp in the passport, only the COPR. I understand this is OK.

If you are from a visa exempt country, it's fine.
