Just a quick question, but I'm unsure of the answer. My first thought is 'no' since I wasn't a resident in 2016, but I just wanted to be sure :P

yepp if you havn't worked in 2016 in canada and didn't pay taxes. Hence, no need to file for TAX RETURNS.
