Hi Everyone,

I got few questions if you can help me understand. I was SINP applicant and got PR this month.

Under COPR, I have Destination city as Saskatoon. Is it mandatory to land in Saskatoon or I can land elsewhere in Canada and complete immigration process ?

If I have to land in Saskatoon then where my immigration process will happen as all flights go via Toronto to Saskatoon ?
Port of Entry in Canada- Toronto ?
Port of Destination in Canada - Saskatoon ?

Is it mandatory to live for certain years in Saskatoon after PR or we can move to other city outside SK province ?

Any help on this would be really appreciated

1- Land at any border point or airport.

2- You will land at your first destination (Toronto in your example).

3- No legal obligation. Your deed will have effect on future PNP applications, where cases similar to yours will make them skeptical.

1. You can land in any port of entry in Canada. Just show proofs like rental agreement in SK that you are going to settle in SK.

3. See my signature below

The only thing I would add is that some smaller land borders dont offer immigration services or only during certain business hours, so if you intend to enter Canada at a smaller land border, you might want to call them to check first.

your right to live anywhere in Canada starts once you become legal permanent resident , which is after your legal landing and stamping COPR , during landing if Officer finds you don't intend to live in the nominating province he/she can revoke your COPR based on misrepresentation as your application was based on intention to live in nominating province . Google many stories like this .

Ethically you should do your best to live in nominating province , if you fail you are free to move , this is based on best effort not bounded by specific time in nominating province

Dear Members,

I am going to do landing soon. My province of destination is Ontario. I plan to visit USA and then drive in to Canada from Buffalo New York USA to Toronto Ontario Canada.

Would it be any challenge to do my landing through a road border instead of an airport? Although I assume it won't be any different than flying in to an airport in Ontario but still any insights or feedback would be welcome.

Best Regards,
Shahid
