My Wife and I landed in Canada in March 2011 and received are PR Card valid until March 2016. We have not lived in Canada all this time but we will be moving to Canada for good in December 2013. I have two questions:

1. We have two girls who were born in the Unites States after our landing and are US Citizens with a valid passport. What documents do they need to enter Canada? Will I need to add them to my PR card?

2. We have purchased additional items after the landing including a new car, baby crib, and new couches etc. How should these be accounted for/declared?

Thank you in advance for your response. All the best to everyone.

1. Your children can enter Canada along with you as they are US citizens. Their status will be as visitor and will be allowed only for 6 months, if not granted extended period. As soon as you arrive in Canada, you need to sponsor your children as dependents. That would take approx up to one year to get their status regularized to Canadian PR. You can search the pages of this forum about sponsoring a US born child to Canada. There are several discussions.

2. As you have not got a B4 form stamped by CBSA during your first landing in in 2011 about the items you are bringing, you may need to declare it. I cannot say whether the customs will leave it without any duty but I hope they may just allow to let it go, considering your kids.

There are some procedure to bring your car to Canada. That too you can get from different discussions on this forum.
