LANDED..........
June 30 , 2010
Hello all,
after a year and a half of waiting, i have finally landed on June 30, 2010.

I"m just going to share with you my landing experience.

first of all, i was living Toronto while i was waiting for my visa to arrive.

anywho, i got rainbow bridge and the first thing i did was took my papers to the immigration office at the bridge.
they told me to go across the bridge and get a refusal of entry letter from the USA side.

TIME: 11:30
so i walked across the bridge. it cost 50cents to cross.
there are CHANGE MACHINE right there so don't worry.
you can change your Canadian Dollars or US Dollars into quarters. The machine only take US$1, US$5, CN$1 (loonie), and CN$5.

it took me about 10mins to walk across cuz i was taking pictures of the falls.

i got to the US side and there is only ONE door at the at the end of bridge.
i got in and it took about 1min to see an office. he told me to take a seat.
i waited like 3min. before i was called.
he asked me what my purpose was and i told him i'm landing.
i gave him my passport. asked me what i'm profession, was and that was pretty much it.

i asked him which would be faster for him to do, an I-94 or the refusal of entry letter.
he said I-94.
i got the I-94 since i was going back to the states (buffalo)for some BUFFALO CHICKEN WINGS to celebrate with my friend. GO TO "THE ANCHOR BAR": where the WINGS where first created!!!!

anyway, the I-94 cost me US$6. (they only take US, so have a credit card ready if you dont have any cash)
paid my US$6 with my credit card and got my I-94 and walked out.

i cross the bridge over to the Canadian side.

TIME: 11:50ish
The bridge leads you back to one door.
that's were Canada Customs is.
i told them i was landing today.
once again, simple questions.
anything you need to declare, how much cash, fire arms, you know, the usual.

she gave me a yellow piece of paper and told me to head to Immigrations.
(same place where i went before i crossed)

walked in and there was two people in front of me

TIME: 11:55ish
i got in line and waited, but the guy in front was taking forever!!
i wonder if he ever got in to canada?! he's wasn't landing.

TIME: 12:10ish
an IO called me over and told her i was landing.
i gave her my passport and the documents that were sent with it.
she also asked me for my bank statements.
i gave those to her.

she told me to take a seat.

TIME: 12:20ish
the IO called me over and i had to initial some parts of my document and finally signed it.
she told me that i am officially a landed immigrant, and reminded me that i can take my passport with the document that i signed to get my SIN# and OHIP.

TIME: 12:30ish
that was it.
over all it was a simple day and all is good.

TOTAL TIME: ONE HOURish

if anybody wants me to clarify on my experience please let me know, i'll get back to you!!

GOOD LUCK to you all!!!!
and i hope this helped.

Hi ohcanada2010,

Congratulations and wish you the best of luck,

Did they ask you literally to show them the bank statment, or they asked only how much money you are carrying with you ?

Thanks in advance

The IO officer, literally took a look at my bank statements.
since, all of my banking is done paperless and online, a print out was good.
as long as it is recent. she asked me if it had a date on it.
my bank automatically prints out the date on the bottom right hand side corner of page.

my consultant advised me to bring my bank statement too.

hope this helps.
