Crossed the border yesterday with my family and had to wait for around 3 hours.
When my turn came, the entire process was less than 5 mins to confirm landing and less than a min for customs.
Contrary to some of the forum posts, I was asked proof of funds. So please make sure you carry a print-out. (Digital proof wasn't accepted). I fortunately had some proof that totaled more than the minimum, so no issues.
Also, there were a couple of people who had problems who came in their own car and importing later( I don't know if it was for a financed car or a car with title). Better to take a rental car in my opinion. I know there are some contradicting posts around this topic, with some having no issues - but it's all up to you whether that rental cost of around 100 bucks is worth the risk.
