Hi,
My wife and I recently got our CoPR and immigration visa, and we are planning to do a soft landing by driving to the boarder from the U.S.
However, after reading a lot of public documents, we are still unclear about some blind spots that those docs do not explicitly clarify,
Target landing date: 10/1/2021
Q1: If we do a soft landing and leave Canada in 1 month (11/1/2021) then try to re-enter on 12/1/2021 (assuming we have got the PR card by then), will we be denied by the border officer since we lived in Canada for only 1 month during the 5 years back to the date when we're trying to re-enter? If not, when will this 2 years in 5 years rule starts applying?
Q2: A side question of Q1 is, does the PR status start on the date of CoPR issuance or the first entry? (I'm trying to take advantage of the visa expiry date to postpone the 2yr-in-5yr rule starting date if it's on first entry date)
Q3: My wife has taken two shots of vaccines that's not in the accepted list of vaccine for quarantine exemption, and she does not have the plan to take two more shots of pfizer or moderna in the near future. Given that I've taken pfizer and being fully vaccinated, do I need to be quarantined with her for 14 days if we live in a 1-bed/2-bed apartment?
Thanks in advance
