PL HELP..my consultant has given me only one form...PL NOTE THAT I HAVE NOT LANDED
Hi Maverick,
Pre 2006 [I guess] there was a separate form called, "the Record of Landing Form", it was IMM1000. It has been discontinued since. And replaced with our COPR [Confirmation of Permanent Residence], which is IMM5292.
For the Visa nowadays we get the following from our CHC:
1. Passports with Visa stamped,
2. The COPR [one each for every family member, including Kids],
3. An Explanation/Advisory Letter [2 pages].
If u have got al the 3 above, u r good to go. I have not yet come across anything called 'Copy of PR Card Requisition form'. Probably u r referring to the PRC Application Form (IMM 5444E) that's needed to obtain our 2nd PR Card set. Note that this IMM 5444E is not needed for 'landing' & our 1st PR Cards.
As u hit the New Immigrant's Section in the Airport [after the 1st desk], a BSO will call u in his/her cabin to perform your 'Record of Landing'. Here s/he will ask u some questions, take your Canadian Address, enquire on the Landing funds etc., Log it all into his/her computer and make u sign the COPR [inside the box]. This is the process of Record of Landing, nowadays.
After which, s/he will Welcome U to Canada, admit that the PR Cards will follow in approx 30 days, with a delay sometimes; And enquire from u if u have any questions. On your negative, s/he will hand u over the copy of your COPR [sometimes s/he will staple it into your Pp], signed, date stamped with his/her CBSA ID No. And there u go...
I hope now u r clarified.
