I was wondering if anyone could provider some insights. I have a tricky situation. I am a landed immigrant living in the US applied with a passport from my birth country. I have also recently acquired US citizenship and my birth country doesn't allow dual citizenship and hence the passport is cancelled. Does this mean my Canadian PR status is canceled and I can't return to Canada as a PR ?

I do not think it will affect your PR status at all as long as you have your PR card and still meet the residency requirement. You can contact a Canadian embassy in the US and ask them if you should inform immigration of your change in citizenship, new passport number etc.
