Can anyone point me to the right direction? I live in Ontario. I just landed last week and paid RIV fee online. I have a vehicle import form (form1) from landing process.

What to do now?? My vehicle still have a US registration plate and insured by the US company. How do I go to switch everything to Canadian (registration plate and insurance) smoothly without a gap?

Any input appreciated!

i had imported a car from us last year - after paying fees
u have to goto canadian tire to get inspection done
get daytime lights if the car doesnt have it
then apply for registration in province n canadian insurance
it was too much paperwork at each point

additional info....

after payment of fees, RIV will send you the inspection form which you will bring to canadian tire to get your car inspected
need provincial inspection and insurance in canada before you can register your car in the province and get license plate

Please can you tell me that, what all fees you paid for the car.
Can you also please tell me the procedure too.
Thank you very much

Procedure is as simple as BZ Mom said. Fees would be about 50 for inspection, around 100 for emission and another 100 for registration.
