Landed canada without changing marital status

My husband got pr in canada. After that he married me and landed canada without changing his marital status. At the immigration he declared that he is married and want to change his marital status. They sent a mail to the Canadian embassy in India. Now we are waiting for their reply. Does it affect his pr? Please reply
