Laid off at work - will it affect my sponsorship?

Hi, I am the sponsor and we passed our application last October. Got the AOR, biometrics and Sponsor Approval already. But I was laid off 3 days after we passed our application. Will this affect our application? Do I need to inform IRCC about this? I went on vacation in the Philippines and am still currently here. Is there any savings I need to show IRCC?

Thanks for your help!

It would be better to raise the webform to ask the current status of file. I believe those steps already completed, you don't need to go-back.

I am sorry for your layoff. I assume you are a Citizen.

I dont believe you need to let them know. There should be no issues with your application.

Just make sure dont go on a social assistance

EI is not a social assistance.

Have fun! Dont worry about the application. It would be fine.

You did the right thing by going on a vacation in the PHL :)

If your Sponsor approval done before you laid off then you don't have to worry, just find another work and you would be ok

As long as you are not receiving social assistance, I wouldn't say anything!
