Hi, I'm on a PGWP working for an advertising agency and my employer is willing to help me in getting an LMO to extend my work permit.

1) I was told that LMO application form "EMP5517 Higher-skilled Occupations (Including positions under the Federal Skilled Trades Program)" is the one that my employer was suppose to fill out. Is this correct?

2) I was also told that the FEDERAL SKILLED TRADES PROGRAM section on the form doesn't apply for me so it can be left blank. Is this correct?

3) Lastly what are the documents that my employer needs to submit along with LMO application? There is a list provided on the application form but it states that the checklist is for FEDERAL SKILLED TRADES PROGRAM REQUEST ONLY. Does this mean my employer only needs to submit the application form and no supporting documents? Please let me know.

Thanks so much!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1. Yes, if the position he’s offering you falls under NOC 0, A or B. Otherwise you have to fill out the low skilled application form.

2. Correct, that section doesn’t apply to you.

3. As the form is filled out question by question, you will see what documents are required for supporting proof.

4. Because you’re going from a PGWP to an LMO, if the job is NOC o, A or B, your employer may not need to demonstrate proof of advertising. He should verify with Service Canada.

Hope that helps.
