Hello friends,
I applied for spousal open work permit and visitor's visa for my family to join me in Canada. It was refused yesterday on the following basis "You have not provided sufficient evidence to demonstrate that you are the genuine
spouse or common-law partner of a Canadian study permit holder or that your spouse is a full-
time student in a qualifying program at a DLI" but I added our marriage certificate and our wedding pictures and my son's birthday certificate too.
What could be other documents were we supposed to add to prove our relationship again? Kindly help me

How about second part? Is your spouse full time student? Their course is a qualifying program or not? Their insitute is DLI or not??

Yes I am the full time student. I'm doing masters in Chemistry at the university of Calgary.

Did you attach your docs like study permit, DLI number and stuff like that....

From admission letter, funding letter, study permit, enrollment letter, emails from the school, student ID and all the necessary documents.

As per that reason you quoted no idea about refusal as you had attached all docs....
I will let others chime in...
Maybe try attaching full letter hiding all personal details....

Tara, I have tried to attach the letter but I don't know how to. Practically, that is the only reason given for the refusal. The rest are just guidelines as what to do next if we plan of reapplying.

You have two threads going at the same time. You only got married and then came to Canada in May 2023. What are the timelines? Did you enter as single, married or common-law? IRCC doesn’t believe marriage is genuine. You need to prove you have been together for many years (as you said in another post) with joint accounts, bills, rentals etc. You need more than a marriage certificate and wedding photos.

We were still common law partners preparing to officially get married when I submitted my application on March 2023. I added their information to my application. And we got married that same month on 25th March 2023 before I got a medical request from ircc. So entered Canada as a married man.
Sincerely, we don't have anything like business or bank accounts bearing our names. But I submitted our marriage certificate, my son's hospital birth cert bearing my name and my wife's name. His biometric birth cert with our names as his biological parents. His health insurance card bearing my middle name and my surname.

Kindly guide me if this is still not enough.

As you have been answered...maybe your status is not clear, as you said even I am confused you said married in one post and then saying married in another and then living as common in law and same thing might be confusing the officer...
Also short time martial status these days comes under scanner these days....

Hi guys, I'm doing reapplication. Shedule 1(IMM 5257) is appearing twice in the OPTIONAL DOCUMENTS, one after my wife's application checklist and the other at my son's checklist. But I don't understand. Her own is SWOP So I have filled the IMM 1295) form. So I don't know if I should still fill this one too and upload it.
