Does your status show "In Process" though you did the test?! Please share with us your timeline! I applied on August 2011 and still waiting for the test.

I applied in May 2011 and have not received a test date yet.
Very frustrating as the long wait affects many plans I have made (travel, job etc.).
All we can do is sty positive, I suppose.

I applied in September 2011. They started processing my application in June 2012 and I did my test in September 2012. My status still says in progress online.

When did they inform you about the test?! I mean did you get a length of time to prepare for the test...I haven't read the book yet as I am still waiting for their letter that will inform me about the date!

Also, did they make an update online regarding the test letter before getting the letter itself in the mail?! Thanks!

I had a week notice to prepare. I suggest you start reading, because it's all stuff you should know anyways. I got the letter in the mail first, but then I don't check my status online very often.

@ egyo I just checked my online status, and it has not been updated yet. So the letter came first.

Wow, congratulations June Bug!
It only took you 14 months to become a Canadian citizen, way below the average processing time.
Fantastic! Enjoy the ceremony!

Thank you Maple Eagle. They said during the test that Kitchener is one of the fastest CIC offices in the country. I guess they are right!

Re: Kitchener-Ontario timeline & Vancouver Office Timeline

Hi Maple Eagle,

If I am not wrong you are with the Vancouver office which is one of the slowest one. It has been forever and we have been waiting and nothing comes in. I have been waiting since May 2012 as they sent me a letter saying they I should refrain from contacting them until 6 mths from the date of that letter.

All those who are getting there procedures of citizenship completed are Lucky ones as I can't move out any where to take a better opportunity as they say that transfers delay your file move.

Good Luck :)

Hi Rosebud,

You are right, I am with the Vancouver office - assuming that my file has been transferred there from Victoria... I applied in May 2011. Approaching the 18th month of waiting while I do not even have a test date yet. My hope is to be invited for the test this year. Many plans i had made have been shattered.
So thank you for your reply, it is encouraging to read how other applicants experiences are! Any information about the situation for West Coast candidates is much appreciated.

:)

Hey Maple Eagle,

I am also stuck with the Vancouver office and I don't know how long will it take but I can give u a suggestion which personally I did was to mail a request to Vancouver Office and I am sure you will get a reply sooner because they'll see your concern and I tried it too and found it works. They are also humans like us and I believe they do also know the pain we are going thru. So B positiveand try.

Good Luck :)

Hello Rosebud,

In which way did it work for you? You said you are stuck...

Did you email them or did you submit a letter?
Honestly, I do not even know any address of one of our offices there (nor do I know which one is responsible for my case).

Regards!
