may be a silly question but is this the Kingston thread? wondering how long it will take for my husband to receive his passport & visa? The embassy requested his passport with return airway bill...it was sent 15 business days ago..how much longer do we have to wait for it? can he travel right away?

this is it buttons, welcome! If you would like to share your application date I can add you to our spreadsheet.

it usually takes 2-4 weeks for passport return but there has been people that wait up to 2 months but this is very rare. As soon as the passport is returned with the foil visa in it, he can drive straight to airport and fly out! He does have an expiry date tho.. he has to fly out before his medical expires or before the passport expires, whichever comes earliest. Congrats on making it to the end of the waiting game!

my application date was November 28, 2011

so good to see that i'm not alone...sometimes it feels like my husband and I are the only ones going through the loneliness and frustration of being apart & immigration

ever since the request for the passport, i've been looking up the tracking number waiting for the embassy to return...my suitcase is packed and in my car ready to go for the last two weeks...we've been together almost 3 years..married for 1yr...feels like our lives and our future plans are on hold...i mean really..how long does it take to stamp & print a confirmation of permanent residency? anfd the whole 16mth processing time..holy..what do they actually do with it that takes 16mths? we were lucky..it only took 9mths..so far
