Hey to all
We (me, my wife and my daughter) have got Pr Canada in jan 2014 and move there (Toronto, Ontario) in Aug 2014. Accordingly we have made our planning. I stayed there for 3 month I:e from Aug-2014 to Nov-2014. I have got PR card, OHIP Card And Ontario G license, also worked there and Filled T4.) But my wife and my daughter had stayed there for 1 month I:e from Oct-2014 to Nov-2014. They have got Pr Cad, but not apply OHIP health card), we all move back to Indian on Nov.2014 due to my father heath problem (who is in India). Now my wife is pregnant and gone with her 2 month
My wife have got good job in India, if she continue with her job till 2024 , she would be eligible for all benefits (Pension/medical) after Volunteer retirement (VRS). Accordingly we have 2 plans, kindly suggest me which one is best for me.

Plan 1>
1. If we move Canada in her 3 month and delivery would be in Canada and new baby will got Canadian status and after that they (my wife and my daughter and new baby )will come back to Indian and she continue with her job till 2014. In this case she will get 1 year maternity leave but have not fulfilled her PR obligation as well as my daughter. But new baby will be Canadian passport and stay India till 2024. In 2024 can I will sponsor them again.

Plan 2>
2. Only I came back to Canada and my wife's delivery would be in Indian and also she continues with her job till 2024. In 2024 can I will sponsor them (my wife and my daughter and new baby ) again.

thanks

In which month your wife is in?. you need to give 3 months for ohip to take affect as well as hospital resources.I would suggest delivery of baby in canada .How many days/months she may get leave maternal.

2024 is a long time. I would suggest while having child in canada explore her chances of getting a job here which may earn more than in india

Sir, Thanks for replying.
She is in her 2 months of pregnancy and we make plan to move Canada on 1-march 2016. 30 march 2016, she will be Completed her 5 months of pregnancy. On 30-July- 2016, we completed 3 month in Canada and eligible for OHIP Health card. And expected date of delivery would be in Sep 2016.
She got maternity leave for her office (India) for 8 months (March 2016 to Nov-2016), and if all things would according to planning, then which 1 plan is best for our future:-
Plan 1>
1 If we move Canada in her 4 month and delivery would be in Canada and new baby will got Canadian status and after that they (my wife and my daughter and new baby )will come back to Indian and she continue with her job till 2014. In this case she will get 1 year maternity leave but have not fulfilled her PR obligation as well as my daughter. But new baby will be Canadian passport and stay India till 2024. In 2024 can I will sponsor them again.

Plan 2>

2. Only I came back to Canada and my wife’s delivery would be in Indian and also she continues with her job till 2024. In 2024 can I will sponsor them again.

I would suggest plan 1 where your wife can deliver baby here in canada since she had 8 months leave .mean time you can also explore options here in canada as you may earn more than in india.

after 9 years you are goingto apply it may take another 2 yrs to get their pr and another 6 yrs for canadian citizenship total 17 years
what is the age of your daughter now

Canadian citizenship from birth would be a safer thing for the child in case something happens to you and you are unable to sponsor in 2024. However, in that case, if the child opts to stay in India, India does not allow dual citizenship as far as I know so this child would have an OCI card I assume. I do not know if there are any problems related to living in India permanently with an OCI card.

You realize your OHIP is no longer valid either as you have now spent too much time outside Ontario. When you return, you should tell OHIP when you left and do your 3 month waiting period again too in order to get your OHIP back.

One more option you might not have thought of is that you could live in Canada as a PR for 4 years and apply for citizenship in 2020. You should have it by 2021. Then you can return to India and spend the next 2 or 3 years living with your family. This would revive your wife's and daughters PR status because time spent outside Canada accompanying a Canadian citizen spouse / parent would count towards the RO (residency obligation) and hence they would meet the RO and could apply for travel documents in order to return to Canada. In that case, having Canadian citizenship would be better for your younger child because then you would not have to sponsor anyone for PR again.
