Depends entirely on the CBSA officer you encounter at the point of entry. A TRV does not gaurantee entry into the country, only allowed you to travel to Canada to apply for entry. The CBSA officer must be convinced you meet the requirements (tourist) and you won’t overstay. They can allow you to stay anywhere from a few days up to 6 months depending how you present yourself. If they don’t feel you are a genuine visitor, they can deny you entry and send you home as well.

As @Buletruck said it depends on the immigration officer. However, the standard period of entry is usually 6 months. If the officer for whatever reason grants you enter for a period less than 6 months, a notation will be made on your entry stamp.

An officer cannot stamp you in for more than 6 months. If you would like to stay for more than 6 months you will need to apply to extend your stay. If you try to do this multiple times you will eventually be denied and obtaining a visitor visa in the future will become difficult.

If you stay in Canada more than 6 months you need to pay tax. (Even if it's on a tourist status.)
