hello house,i want to apply for canadian visa through GCKEY. am a skilled worker, i have been teaching for the past eight years. and i dont have relative in canada. how do i go about it? i was told that i would need to apply for open work permit but i dont know the type of permit i need. will someone help me out because in have no offer of job yet.

You don't qualify for an open work permit.

You would need to apply for a regular work permit. Before you can apply for a regular work permit you will first need to find an employer in Canada willing to offer you a full time job and that employer will have to obtain an approved LMIA.

Read Scylla's answer. You can't apply for a work permit until you have an employer with an LMIA, unless you fall in the exempt category - which you don't as a teacher.

Moreover, it is HIGHLY unlikely to get an LMIA for a teacher.
