hi,
a question: i am PR now. and I just had my kid 2 months ago outside of Canada. just heard if I am citizen then my kid will be automatically citizen. I am wondering that if it works that way only I became citizen before my kid was born?
and i also applied kid's visitor visa at oct 2nd. but there was something wrong with her birth certificate. so i just sent in the application and sent the right birth certificate on oct. 15th, which was received on 11.20th. it said 51 days to process online when i applied the visa, but it is still showing as eligibility has not started yet. any idea how long will it take?

The child need to be a PR before she can go for citizenship. You need to sponsor her first.

First you need to sponsor the child. Have you started the process? If the child comes as a visitor then your child doesn’t have access to provincial health care so needs private insurance. Once PR, child can apply for provincial health coverage.

Correct. The kid will only be automatically a citizen if you had become a citizen before the child's birth. You will need to sponsor the child for PR. There is no direct path to citizenship for the child.

It's pretty normal for eligibility to take a long time to start. The average processing time of 51 days is hopefully what it will take to process the second application. Of course it can take longer or shorter than that and impossible for anyone to say for sure. Note that you need to start counting the 51 days from the 20th (the time your second application was received).
