After working here faithfully for the last 7 years under the Live-in Caregiver program, my niece has been sent a devastating letter of refusal. She originally applied over 3 years ago and never heard anything until early this year, when she was sent a letter requesting the Passport numbers of her 2 children still living in the Phillipines. Her children didn't have passports yet, so her family took many 4 hour bus trips to Manila with the 2 young boys to get them. My niece then flew to the Philippines in July to pick up the passports and get their medicals done too, returning to Toronto with the required documents in August. Meanwhile Immigration says they had sent her a letter March 27th asking for copies of the documents, (a letter that she never received), and besides, she had already written immigration telling them she didn't have them yet.
This is the reasoning given in the letter of refusal, that because they never received the required documents in 90 days from the Mar 27th letter, they couldn't establish that she met the requirements for PR and you have to leave Canada as soon as your current permit expires..........................What a crock of SH#&!!
