Just Paid - Going to mail in application - when should I link?

When should I link my application to my account? Should I do it right now? Or wait until I get an email from them saying they received it?

I am sponsering my wife who lives outside of Canada, And I am in Canada.

You can only link the application after you received AOR. If you haven't even mailed in the application, there is literally nothing to link.
