Hi all,

I just received my CPR, very exciting except I lost my passport a few months ago. I got a new one and sent the updated information to CIC but it must've crossed each other because the CPR has my old number on it. It just happens that I'm visiting Texas now scheduled to fly back to Toronto next Tuesday. I will contact CIC immediately but while I'm waiting for their response any ideas on what to do? Would I be able to explain the situation at Pearson or will they reject me? Don't want to screw this up

From your prior posts, I'm guessing you applied via CPP-O. Reply to the latest e-mail they sent you (did they send you a PPR e-mail?) and advise them of the situation. They usually reply very quickly in cases like this and you may even be able to get an updated CoPR in time (you FedEx them the incorrect one to an address the officer gives you including a return waybill and they FedEx you one back).

Alternatively, officers may be able to amend the CoPR when you land. Question is whether they would be ok changing the biographical info, since it is the way they can identify you (do you have copies of the documentation re passport loss and reissue you could take with you?) and it wasn't a clerical mistake.

If neither of those works out, worst case scenario: you'd re-enter as a tourist and then land after you have a corrected the CoPR.

Either way, make sure you have your B4/B4A since it sounds like you're officially "moving" to Canada as soon as you land.

Thank you! Yes that's what I was thinking. I'm still waiting to hear back via email.

The strange thing is I never received a passport request. This COPR came a lot earlier than we expected. Do they not always send PPR first?

Ok I just received an email from CIC. They said just to notify the officer when I land and they will fix it there. Shouldn't affect anything.

CPP-O doesn't always send PPR's. Frankly, when they started to, it seemed odd that they did (and seems to be system related because when they ask for it, they want the bio page in a separate file) ;)

Excellent. Print that page and take it with you. Sometimes the BO and HQ are not on the same page so that should give you cover. Good luck landing!

Hi Murphy 25,

My in-laws just received CPR's and are experiencing similar issues.
They have been in Canada since 2012 with Super Visa. Their passports had to be renewed and
Now the passport information on CPR's does not match the currnet ones.

My wife e-mailed CPC-Ottawa but no reply has been received in over a week.
From the forums I've read so far (along with this one), we're comtemplating driving down to Montana for flagpole procedure but want to make sure prior to heading down.

Did you have any issues with the Border Officers when you were landing?
Thanks.
