Just got admission in Humber for Global Business Management

Hi, I just checked it on the Humber SRS where it shows I have got admission for the two years Post-Graduate for Global Business Management at Humber Institute, Toronto. If someone could please help in letting me know what should be the next step to apply for applying a visa. Also i intend to pay the fees by myself, although i hear its better if i come up with a loan as its a safer bet for a visa approval as far as finance is considered. If so, should i get a FD and take a loan against it? Also, what else other documents are required for the visa approval. I have also heard about visas being rejected because of the inability of the candidate to prove that he/she ( he in my case ) will return back to India. Any advice for me to overcome this hurdle would be helpful. I know these are a lot of question as i'm quite frankly clueless to the procedure, however any help would be appreciated. I also have my brother-in-law residing in Toronto for the past 10-12 years who suggested that he would be my guarantor, will this aid me in getting my visa approval?

Also, I am coming from a BCA background, don't know if that matters but thought of mentioning it.

Are you sure you are in time for applying for VISA? Why don't you defer your admission to May or September '12 intake?

Getting appointment from a DMP for medical test should be your next step followed by acquiring a loan sanction letter.

I'm sorry, i didnt understand by if i'm in time. Im not applying for Jan 2012 but for May 2012. How much time is required? Should i opt for sept 2012?

Oh, you should have mentioned it. You are on time, infact before time. ^^

Now, that checklist might/might not be for you as its not confirmed yet if they will reinstate SPP program after Jan '12 or not.

Do not show much dependency on your relatives that are already in Canada, it will simply make their doubt about you being a possible immigrant stronger resulting into rejection of your application.

For a qualified and on time person no, it doesn't matter.

SPP is just an accelerated form of Generic method with lesser document requirement.

As said before my first reply doesn't apply to you as yours is May '12 intake. Now you need to follow the second checklist.

As per that checklist you cannot go under medical until asked.

See a consultant if you wish to apply using their help. Or simply fulfill the checklist and apply, based on that and you will get your medical call and receive your passport from CHC after which you will have to go for that.

You can apply for Visa on or after 1st Feb '12.

Oh, I apologize. I overlooked that point. So the next step is to straight apply for a visa the moment i get my letter of acceptance. Also it asks for my marksheets which i have, the only thing was that i had a backlog in my last semester in one of my subject which i consequently cleared this May 2011. Will this pose a problem?

Visa depends upon various other things though your academic background being the most important thing. But people with backlog has also go their visas.

Under SPP/Generic they don't call every applicant for interview. If they find something fishy or want more details regarding something, they might ask one to appear for an interview.

Its not about you qualifying, its about them not having SPP Program post Jan '12 intake. They might extend it but don't count on it.
