Hey all,

Just wanted to ask a quick question about our application. I am sponsoring my wife from the USA. We applied in April, and I was approved to be a sponsor. They sent an email saying I was approved and that our application was being sent to Ottawa for further processing for my wife's half to get done. However, at the bottom of the email it said this:

Requirement for Medical Examination

If your sponsored relative(s) has (have) not already done so, your relative(s) must provide an original
Upfront Medical Report form (IMM1017B UPFRONT) signed by a Panel Physician or an E-Medical Up-
front Medical Notification information sheet. Your relative(s) must complete the medical examination
and, once completed, forward this information directly to the visa office noted above along with a copy
of this letter. Your application has been transferred to the visa office noting this deficiency. Your relative
must forward the medical information directly to the visa office to allow continued processing of his/her
application. Failure to do so will result in delays and possible refusal of your relative's application.

Now, we handed in our application in one piece. Background check and both of our applications were sent together. The medical was done at a panel physician the same week that we sent our application in. It says our medical results were received on 08/17/2015. But, it's the bottom part of the email that worried me.

^^^ This part specifically.

Since we already did the medical exam before receiving that letter, and our panel physician sent the results directly to wherever it was that they needed to be sent... do we still have to send a copy of that email? Or would it have been sent with our medical results that were marked as "received"? Scared of getting delayed or refused

Just to be double sure, you may want to respond to CIC letting them know that your wife had done the medical exam upfront, and that you included a proof of it with your application (if you included a receipt or a letter explaining the situation), or forward the confirmation that your doctor sent you that her medical exam had been submitted directly to CIC.

Even with the electronic medical, the doc gives you a form with your picture on it that you have to send in with your application, did you perhaps omit sending this proof?

Me and someone else got the same message as well, try searching on this forum, I am not allowed to post links yet. To me it looks like a generic message but probably a good idea to check with CIC anyway.
