Hey everyone!

We sent in our outland application back in September 2016. We have not heard from Mexico City VO since April when they asked for new medicals which we sent it right away.

I know all we can do is wait right now.. but I have a few questions in the meantime.

My husband (applicant) is now living in Canada with me on his visitor visa. We have already informed CIC of this.

Would it be worth it (or even possible) for him to apply for an OWP at this point?

I am currently 5 months pregnant, should we inform CIC of this?

Also, when we do receive PPR and all that, is the only option for my husband to "land" by going to a land border? Or can this be done at an airport for example...?

Thanks in advance!

1) No - there is no point applying for an OWP. Guaranteed refusal.
2) There's no need to inform CIC that you are pregnant.
3) He can land at an airport only if he's entering Canada on an international flight. Otherwise he needs to go to a land border or book an appointment to land at an office within Canada (it can sometimes take a few weeks to a few months to get a landing appointment).

You applied outland, so he doesn't qualify for an OWP.

No, you don't need to inform IRCC of the pregnancy. It won't have any effect on the app.

He can't land at an airport unless he is arriving on an international flight. The other option is to make an appointment to land at an IRCC office.

Thanks for the quick replies!

When it comes to landing at the border, is it as simple as driving up and saying he needs to "land" as a PR?

You actually have to exit Canada. Apart from that - yes, it's pretty much as simple as that.

He doesn't need a US visa. He will tell US CBP that he is flagpoling. They will give him a piece of paper called an administrative refusal and send him back to Canada to land.
