Hi again everybody,

I got the P2 email today. And I have a question regarding the picture we have to upload to the PR portal.

Can I scan a physical picture and upload it to the portal? Or do I have to upload a fully virtual picture (the one London Drugs or Wartmart takes and gives it to you in a USB stick or emails it to you).

When I submitted my PR application back in June, I scanned a physical picture taken at Walmart and then uploaded in my application. The resolution of the scanned picture was not that amazing, but still within the picture quality requirements for the application. This time, however, I am not sure if that same scanned picture will be good enough, especially because it will be used to issue my PR card.

What are your thoughts, guys?
i would play safe - have your pic retaken and upload it in native digital format.

Got this back from my lawyer today after inquiring about any updates.

Like many others here the last update I’ve gotten was back in October and my application since has been pretty quiet. My wife and I have patiently and anxiously been awaiting an update as my application is currently waiting for the background verification portion to be completed.

“PS - In the last three months, IRCC has laid off 3000 employees which has the unfortunate impact of significantly increasing PR processing times in your class. When we submitted your PR application, in June 2024, average processing times were 8 - 10 months. Now, processing times have increased to 24 months.”

After elections I believe processing times will drop down again .

I also heard back from them, but did not get my P2 yet because my information was "incomplete". The last time I entered Canada was trough a land border (I went to the US for a conference), and I only stated Niagara Falls (as I previously did on other forms and my application) as last entry point in my reply to the P1 email which was not sufficient. I now specified the exact crossing and also added the province. Hopefully it works out now.

I’m also June 17th. But background is still in progress and final decision has an update but is not complete.
