Hello everyone,

If you applied for a study permit on June 2018 and are waiting for a decision, please share information on your profile, when and how you applied (online vs. paper) and the current application status the CIC portal shows. If you have received an update from the visa office recently, please share that information too.

Having this information will let us know if we should expect to hear from the Visa Office soon. More importantly, it will help us panic together.

Applied online on 7th June from Nepal
No change in the application status yet. Currently, it shows "Submitted"
My first application was rejected and this is my reapplication. University, non-spp category.

My application status is the same. However, I did not submit medical upfront as Delhi Office hadn't returned back my passport from the first application at the time I applied. I noticed that around three users in this forum who applied on June have already received a visa. Don't know when they will start processing ours, especially because some applicants who applied in April haven't heard back yet.

Which session are you applying for, 2019 January?
Nah Sep 2018. I have received an offer of a place from Seneca college two days ago. Now preparing paperwork for student visa process. I am sorry to hear that your application was denied at first attempt. Good wishes for your second endeavor..

Well, I would suggest you not to wait for the next 1 month to apply. I have seen people being rejected as they applied too close to the day their classes are supposed to start. If the processing time remains the same, you should expect 7 weeks after application to receive a decision on your application. In my earlier application, it took them 8 weeks to give a decision. So, better hurry up. And, do not forget to write a convincing cover letter (or SOP as some people say). That was the mistake I did in my first application.

Oh Ok, Thank you for your information. I have few queries. For the citizen of Nepal, how do we send our application paper-based or online? What is the process that is required before sending an application to the High Commission, for instance, Vfs, Medical, explain to me briefly the timeframe need for VFS and Medical. I am doing this on my own.so your information would be really helpful. If possible inbox me your sop please just to know the things that need to be included in the letter of intent. Kindly email me at princebikramsingh@gmail.com.Thanks.

First, I would suggest you do an upfront medical examination (I didn't do it though). You need to book an appointment first. Your medical will be done in a day. After a week of carrying out the upfront examination (at Lal Durbar, Durbar Marg), you can submit your application offline via VFS Office, Lagankhel or online. If you will submit offline, VFS won't take time. You can simply visit in between Monday-Friday at office hours with your application and submit it. I have mailed you my study plan, which I had submitted with my application. For a list of documents, I would suggest you check the posts in the FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/796744843789633/

All the best!

Oh, thank you, you are very helpful. If you could name me the hospital that does Medical for Canada would be nice.If I decided to choose paper-based will that medical report handed to me and then post it to immigration or medical officials send them directly to embassy online. I have heard that international student going to colleges has very low visa success rate compared to the university furthermore visa acceptance rate is below average for Nepalese students is it True or Rumor?? I am sorry for pouring you with many questions. I am now the member of that group. Thanks!
I have not received your email yet kindly inbox me again whenever you are ready. If possible please share the expenses prior to submitting the application.

You can check the name of physicians and where to visit them from here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx. They will perhaps provide you with a slip of completion of a medical examination for you to submit with your application. I am not sure though as I haven't done my medical yet. I suggest you read in detail the information provided in the abovementioned website. I don't know about college and university wise differences. But, visa success rate for the study permit is extremely poor for Nepal. I was shocked to see the data: 9-17% (http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_TRproc_0003_E.xls). But, no idea about college-university difference though.

Do you remember if your application was in the "Submitted" stage before moving to "In Processing". If your application is in processing, perhaps your application has already moved a step ahead.

Well, here are the links to the users' post mentioning that they have received a visa:
ZBS's post: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/student-visa-for-sep-intake.564373/page-7#post-6997487

Pawanpreet's post: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/when-i-will-get-the-visa.554327/page-127#post-7012864

All these three guys received their visa within 5-25 days of applying. But, most of the others have been waiting for 2+ months
