Recently my friend J received a rejected decision from IRB, which gave him a mental torture

J fly to Los Angeles last year. At that moment, he decided to seek asylum in the USA.

Maybe he got too much bad news in the USA from the Internet, and «welcome to Canada» as well

So he hesitate to do the decision ,he came to Canada

He told us that he had a American dream in his heart all the time

Because of the safe third country agreement ,J could not apply for asylum in the USA now , except deport by Canada.

Under the agreement persons seeking refugee status must make their claim in the first country they arrive in, either the United States or Canada, unless they qualify for an exception. For example, refugee claimants who are citizens of a country other than the United States that arrive from the United States at the Canada–United States land border can only pursue their refugee claims in Canada if they meet an exception under the Safe Third Country Agreement.

Following some datas of Homeland Security of USA

The rates of approved for asylum is not very low .

Maybe J would apply for asylum in the near future

What’s the question?

If US immigration is his goal, then maybe a US immigration forum is a good resource for this person?

"J" should have applied for asylum in the USA anyway, as this was the first country he arrived in. This was the first mistake...
