Seniors Please help.

I am planning to go for a landing procedure as soon as I have a job interview scheduled in Canada.

Currently, I am in USA working as a Technical Consultant in an IT firm and want to move to Canada as soon as I have a job out there.

My Landing period expires on Feb 2016 so I want to make sure I get a job before that.

Can anyone suggest where/how can I apply for the job related to IT (developer/Programmer)?

Firstly, you are not going to get a job here. You will probably end up working in a fast food restaurant, as Canada is going to a recession, and we have too much competition for jobs already. Also there is no shortage of work here, as we have lots of immigrants coming here every day. So if I were you I would try to live in the US.

Thanks for the input SteveShum, I am also trying to keep the same job as a consultant and find client in Toronto.

I will update you all once, if anything.

You are supposed to first land and then look for a job.

Anyway...

There is no advice but the standard ones. Send resumes to different employers, and go through the hiring process of the ones that are interested. That's about it.

Best of lucks.

What reason do you want to move to Canada because IT job is better in USA?

Its harder to find a job in Canada than in USA. The job market is smaller and the economy is going down as the Canadian dollar deeps below 77cents per US dollar.

I can understand if you are moving for some other reason. All the best though.

My husband has a work experience of 4.5 yrs in the field of Quality, Lean & Six sigma in a Multi national bank.
He is an accredited ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor (Quality council of India), certified Six Sigma Green belt and is planning to do Six Sigma black belt certification from ASQ. We plan to immigrate to Canada by Jan'16.

Kindly advise
- Will the black belt certification be useful in canadian market? Is is worth doing?
- What are the job prospects of such a role in toronto?

Hello everyone,

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

I am planning for Canadian Immigration though have some questions in my mind. Would be grateful if anybody answer them. All these are related to having a work permit.

1. What is the minimum wage for an odd job?
2. How much hours on average a person can work (odd job) in Canada?
3. How much time does it take to get an odd job?
4. I am an MBA, profession is Foreign Trade Banker, any idea how much time it will take to get a professional job [speculations only]?

Regards,
MAS
