Hi

I am not sure if this a has been discussed before.
I am scheduled to leave for Manitoba/Canada through the Provincial Nomination Program. I was wondering if it would hurt my chances of actually getting a Job if I start sending my resume to potential employers before I get there? I have been browsing through volunteering sites and Job sites and occasionally see items that seems to fit my current skills. I am concerned that I might annoy the employer if I contact them now even though I am not yet physically in Canada.

thanks
Michael

I assume you got your visa via the PNP without being nominated by any employer? :). So you are not coming to Canada with a pre-arranged work agreement?

If that is so, then I would treat this as a plus on your side - you will be in country, the potential employers do not need to apply for an LMO to hire you, and you can start in the soonest possible time if hired.

So go on - send your updated resume, with your contact details (if you have them now) in Canada, and alternatively - your details where you are (email and current contact numbers). If you get a positive reply, then tell them when you are in-country and available to start. If this is just within 1-3 months that is quick - compared to starting the process of hiring a foreign worker.

/good luck on your search and congratulations on your impending entry to Canada.

@Micheal....if you are in North America then its not so much of an issue to apply for jobs without actually being in Canada, I was in the US and applied for jobs from there and landed one. However if you are in some other part of the world, I would suggest you hold back your job search until you actually come here, because in most cases the employer will schedule an interview immediately if they are serious about the position and like your profile.

All the Best & God Bless,
Cheers,
