Job search in Alberta and hotel stay

I will be visiting Calgary next month and search for some IT job. In case I dont find any by 3 weeks, I plan gto try in Toronto

Can someone suggest me a good job website or consultant

Also.. should I be staying in a hotel to be able to prove that I did try settling in Alberta?

Sorry am new to this topic and Canada. Any least piece of info will be a big help
