Hi All,

I am 26 years old and have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering with 4 years of work experience as an Application support analyst in India. Currently I am thinking of migrating to Canada with the help of a Consultancy. As fas as I know, all the major organizations and MNCs outsource their support jobs to India. So if I consider applying for a PR via the express entry program, are there job opportunities available considering my education and experience?

Hi All,

Some help here would be really appreciated. My core skills include sql and unix.

I think you will find it almost impossible to secure any job from outside the country and you are correct that many major corporations outsource support jobs to India or China or Latin America simply based on a cost saving basis much to the annoyance of in country locals who lose their jobs as makes no difference these days where someone sits physically.

A consultant by the way will not really help secure a job, they might promise a lot but have no influence either on getting PR or securing a job other than helping with the paperwork, but your bank balance will take a hit.

Having said all this check various employment websites such as indeed.ca given small companies without an international presence are unlikely to outsource, but they still unlikely to employ someone not already a PR with no Canadian experience . Ultimately at age 26 it will probably be down to taking a leap into the unknown much the same as the majority of new PRs have to do .
