I am struggling to find answers through the CIC and most things we are being told to do seem to make no sense. We are trying to apply to emigrate, as my husband is an electrician. We need to either have a 'certificate of qualification' for his trade or a job offer.
The first option is underway through the Ontario College of Trades, but we may only be able to get a 90 day temporary certificate of qualification, which I have no idea if the CIC will accept, and most probably they won't process our application within the first 90 days. We can only get a full certificate when he sits the exam in Canada, which he cannot do until we emigrate, so catch 22!
Secondly, how do we get an offer of employment when we are still living in the UK and cannot emigrate until we get approval? Which employers in Canada are going to offer us/ anyone a job if we cannot give them a start date?
It seems like both options are not going to be possible. Has anyone else had the same thing? Is anyone else in this position? Losing the will to live atm!
